I was doing work in my basement. I am putting up paneling and using heavy duty construction adhesive. My tanks are all in another room of the basement and are isolated from where the work is being done. Any problems from the fumes that can be causing my tanks to cloud up? What would be my best course of action?

I doubt it! ;)
I'm an artist.....I work in the same room as my tank (oh no)
Because I live in an open loft I can't close off the tank.
It's not the best thing for a tank to be in a room with fumes
(I have walls of windows I can open if it gets bad), But for me
it sometimes can't be avoided.:shhh:
I use adhesives incaustics, spirits,etc.,
with no problems.
If fumes could cloud your water, my tank would be opaque!
You didn't use any kind of aerosol adhesive, causing a mist that could have fallen into the water - did you?

I'd look for another reason- get more responses:grouphug:

I would at least do a partial water change and, if your not already...run some carbon.

I am running a skimmer with air intake. I have shut that off for now. There is no other reason for all of the tanks to be cloudy. Carbon running in all tanks and water changes are happening. Thank you for the responses and encouraging words. All corals and fish are behaving normally. All coral polyps are extended.

Hey Bigsink,
I experienced this before in the past.
It affected my freshwater and my fowlr.
I believe it was a bacterial bloom, is your water cloudy like skim milk?
Unfortunately nothing I did made it go away, no matter how much water I changed nor how much carbon I ran.

Sorry to say I lost all my livestock, they all slowly started to gasp for air and one by one they died (I actually gave away alot of fish to people to save them)

How can I have a simultaneous bacterial bloom in 20 tanks? All cichlid tanks have cleared up with carbon and water changes. Reef tank is still cloudy. I did a 30% water change and will do another in the morning around 15%. I will also run my Diatom filter as well. All water parameters check out OK with the Salifert test kit. Cross my fingers and hope for the best!
