I can assure you that if the tank were to move at all causing it to fall into the stand the tank would be the least of your worries. In that case you had better wory about your own safety because the whole house would most likely moving. I had a stand like that under my 70 for five years and then modified it to fit my 90 for another ten. For doors I'm just planning to do some flat panel cabinet doors. Two on each side for a total of four.
For circulation I have some Tunzes. I may get a few more or add some VorTechs. No CL planned. Probably just one OTB return.
Today we had a slight detour in the project. I decided I wanted to put the tank on a different wall in the dining room. It works a LOT better there. Unfortunately this put the tank parallel with the floor joists so I had to reinforce the floor.
Triple 2X12s carriage bolted together on a couple of screw jacks did the trick (ignore the junk pile in the background :wink: )...

Duane, no problems fitting the SUV - column locations were chosen for that reason and headroom with the beam is fine. :wink:

I'm thinking it would be wise to run a dedicated electrical circuit for the tank (just in case the tank ends-up as a reef in the future... :wink: :wink: ). I may also run some 1/4" poly tubing inside the same wall so I can have all the topoff stuff in the basement. The bits I use for glass drilling are diamond tipped coring bits - available very inexpensively on eBay (and not so inexpensively from glass places).

Completed the dedicated GFI circuit last night (4 gang outlet on the right). Finished running the 1/4" poly and some 1/2" PVC down to the basement so I can automate water changes and topoff from down there. No buckets.
I broke the face plate for the box the plumbing is in while drilling the openings so I'll need to get another blank tomorrow and redo that.
The outlet on the left won't normally be used but is on a generator circuit so I can switch any critical equipment over to that in the event of a power outage.

There are just plugs in there right now, but I wanted to leave myself a convenient place to stick small valves to feed single pass chambers like maybe carbon, phos, purigen and/or a Ca reactor. Trying to keep my options open... :wink:
