There seems to be quite a bit of coral for a FOWLR.

Exactly what I was thinking! :D

Did you happen to get any close ups?

By the way, which panworld is your return pump?

I haven't actually put any corals in - a bunch of stuff was already on the rock and grew out while it was in the holding tub over the past few months. I was hoping to keep things simple with this setup and (at least initially) go with a FOWLR, but it doesn't seem to be headed that way...

BT, the return pump is the PanWorld 50PX-X. I think it's rated for 1100 GPH at 0' head but I figure I'm getting about 800-900 GPH through the sump after losses.

I've got the same pump lined up for my 180G! ;)

Never used an external pump before but I wanted to this time around and found it for less than half the price and barely used. :D

Chris, any updates? :D

Also, did you end up using styrofoam under the tank like you said you were? Did you just use that blue/pink styrofoam insulation stuff? And did you do it just to get the last bit of leveling in there? :)

No updates, sorry. Things have been crazy for the past few weeks and I've had no time to work on the tank project. Trying to get the central air finished before it gets hot in the attic - then I'll get back on this...

I did end-up using a bit of foam under the tank - just some thin (1/4") white stuff I had lying around. The top of the stand was already very flat so I'm not sure how much the foam is helping but I figured it couldn't hurt...

Its spring time. We all have yard work and home improvements we've been neglecting all winter. We understand.

Looking good Chris. I like the water change idea to plumb it into the wall, very neat and tidy way of doing it.

I could take a few shots, but not much has changed over the Summer. I haven't had time to work on the tank.

After I wrapped-up the central A/C project I planned to finish it, but my Mom had to go in for major surgery and it turns out she has cancer. Haven't had much free time since.

When I get something more done on it I'll update with some pics.

Really sorry to hear about your mom, also. My best wishes go out to you and her!

Take your time with the pics, but I know things are probably looking nice! ;)

Hobbies are fun but life definately comes first. Sorry about your mom.
Best of luck to her in beating it.

I'll try to get some pics up soon - haven't had much free time in the last few months...

Just got back from a couple of weeks in Texas. My Mom had another (and hopefully her final) surgery down at MD Anderson early this month. 9 hours in the OR!
