Hi,
I thought I was going to go with a more traditional tank dimension (36"), but instead I got a great deal on a new Oceanic 50 (30x18.5x21) show setup yesterday and went with that. Question is about lighting - specifically, I would like some opinions from folks about whether to go with a 30" fixture (can only find the Sunpod to fit) or if a 24" would suffice.
The setup came with a 30" CF light that I figure I'll use to light the refugium underneath.
Oh yeah, the fixture has to be able to sit on top of the aquarium or possible be mounted in a custom hood. I live in an apt so the landlord would go nuts if I suspended anything requiring holes in the ceiling.
I want to keep LPS, clams, and a couple of fish so I figure I need to go with 250W MH. As I live in an apt, I thought going with something already assembled would be a little more foolproof than wiring up a kit from scratch and praying I didn't burn the joint down while at work, etc.
Any suggestions from you gurus?
