Is there a way to raise pH without raising dKH? I've been using Kent super buffer and my dKH is 12, but my pH is only 7.9 (lights have been on for 5hrs now). Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Nope. Always used a buffer and tropic marin bio-cal. I didn't know my pH was this low until I got my meter.

You know, my pH hovers around 8 also. I'm not sure why. Using kalk raises it but it raises my alk too. I've never had any problems with my pH being this low. I've tried all the usual tricks to raise it such as drawing in fresh air for my skimmer, etc. But the pH always settles at about 8. Maybe if I stopped my Ca/CO2 reactor it might help, but seeing as my corals are growing at a steady pace, I decided they'll just have to live with a pH of 8 ;)

such as drawing in fresh air for my skimmer
Instead of supplying the skimmer with fresh air, use it for the waters surface and increase the turbulance there.
Bubbles don't provide much interaction between the air and water like you would assume.
The interaction at the waters surface is much much more efficient.
