Tom, that looks like a deepwater coral. The name escaped me, but I had one with greenish tint for a few years.But then, Acropora pretty much look all the same, so I can be wrong to think I know what it is.
You're right, I think. I did identify it (or thought I had - I confess I didn't go as far as putting it's skeleton under a microscope). I can't for the life of me remember the name though, or the site I always used to consult (as well as my Veron - now in storage). Do you know the site I mean? I think it's Australian, with a separate page on loads of different corals, with about 4-5 pics on each, including one of the skeleton. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'll dig out the name again.
FWIW, despite being a "deep water coral" it grew fairly well in quite bright light (under 2X 250w DE, quite high up), putting on about 50% in size over 8-9 months before I sold my entire set-up to a friend before moving back to the UK.
