Okay guys, I need ideas. My regal angel still won't eat. I've tried live brine, PE mysis, Hikari mysis, and live market clams. Anything else I should try? It was eating Hikari before it was shipped to me, but it has not shown any interest in foods since I added it to the tank. The regal still looks healthy; I'm guessing it's eating algaes and sponges in the tank. But I really would like to get it eating prepared foods for peace of mind.

Try chopping up a shrimp very finely with a knife until it's like a paste. Then spread that paste on a small head of broccoli. Rubber band it to a chunk of live rock, and place it near a spot he'll cruise by. I know, sounds weird, but it just might work.

So what you mean is if I dose phyto, fish are more interested in eating?

The "scent" intices them to eat. Since they can't find the phyto, they look for what they "think" is the source of the scent (IMO)

Use nori. That always gets my finicky herbivores/omnivores interested. Attach it to a clip and hang it off the glass. He should go for it with gusto, maybe not right away but he will learn to as your Black Tang and possibly Joculator Angel go to eat it.

I'm sure people will think I'm crazy when I ask this but I'll ask anyways. Len, can you please post pics of the regal? It's my all time favourite fish and I'd love to see what yours looks like.

I've soaked food in Selcon before with some success. It's pretty stinky and smelly (in the "good" stinky and smelly way)....I guess the fish like that.

Can't hurt....

How long has it been since he's eaten??

Isn't garlic good to use, you can by it from the LFS and just put a few drops on?

I purchase liquid garlic from the local grocery store normally it is quite a bit cheaper not to mention closer to my house.
