I just got off flakes, basically. Why would you want to quit frozen?

As far as flakes go, consider Ocean Nutrition. :) I don't feed the reef tank pellets, so no help there. ;)

AFAIK, flakes pack more phosphates. They also go bad faster. And I think my fish might like frozen better too (the corals definitely do).

I feed frozen, pellets and flake.

I use the pellets in my autofeeder underneath the flake. The weight of the pellets insures that all of the food drops out when it is supposed too.

I have used the long spirulina pellets that are more like sticks and round pellets. The round ones that I currently am using are by OSI.

The flake I use is also by OSI.

Anything OSI is usually good.

Ocean Nutrition makes a Formula One pellet food these days. My fish absolutely go ape over these, I'd recommend them.

Yes, but the water does soften them up a bit.

Pellets aren't for smaller fish, like chromies and the like. Bigger fish gobble pellets up in one bite.

CJ, how's your tank been?

Uneventful - just the way I like it :D
No new additions since the blue zooanthids around christmas, mostly just sitting back and watching the softies colonize every available inch of rock.

I should try pellets too. But my fish would eat them up before they had a chance to soften. They are insane pigs.

The Formula One pellets I mentioned are available in multiple sizes. The small ones really are pretty small, and my vanderbilt chromis' will cheerfully suck up a half dozen in one gulp given the opportunity. When I feed the pellets, they get scarfed up by the fish almost instantly so I doubt they have much chance to soften before being ingested. It's never caused the slightest difficulty though.

Not really. If something really remarkable shows up I just might, but mostly I think things are set. Just a matter of letting what I've already got grow and fill in the holes.

I just bought some ON F1 and F2 pellets with a Eheim feeder. I hope my fish like em.

I feed Frozen, Live and Flake.

Prime Reef Complete by Ocean Nutrition is the flake brand I use and the fish love it.

Unfortunately, only my tang and angel will eat the pellets, and no one wants the flake. I'm going to have to condition them. They're too accustomed to frozen foods.

I use frozen, flake and pellet. My fish are pigs and eat anything I put in the tank. The PBT leading the charge.
