So here's the gist, My power compact (aqualight pro) just crapped the bed. Thus I need a new lighting system for my 125G softy/fish only tank. If you would please vote on the type of system you like the most, and if you'd like to leave a reasonor link for equipment be my guest. I will make a decision by Mondayish afternoon for purchase. Just FYI I will not be spending over $450.00. Or my wiff will have my cajones.

In the meantime my tank is running on 2- 24" fixtures one retrofit (VHO)110w, and the other a small aqualight pro (PC)130w. I'm somewhat leaning towards a 72" 320w VHO fixture, but have not made any commitments as of yet. I look forward to your suggestions/opinions/options.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

J

i like the shimmer lines in the water from MH.
you have a wide selection of bulbs.

i like PC for the added actinic. or go half and half bulbs to
add more light.

they come in many shapes and sizes, diy or built to the nuts and
ready to plug in.

you make be able to get a really neat dual 150 watt MH with
added PC and moonlights.

I voted before reading the post. I think If I were lighting a FOWLR I would just use VHO.

Hey I found some cheap lights by the manufacturer Odyssea. Anyone know whether or not to invest in these? From a friend I've heard they can catch on fire and are cheap because they are cheap. What's your guys opinions?

Well I went with a 72" Hamilton tech 4 x 165watt VHO retrofit system for about $440.00 bulbs included.

Thanks to all of you who put some input in on this dilemma of mine.

Peace out homslices,

J
