So can I comment now? I think you should drill some holes for acrylic rods. You can create a nice single column with the rock you have.

we're using a 250 watt halide on a 30 gallon cube (your tank is slightly taller) and it will be a 20k aquarmckzo(until we feel moved otherwise :wink with 2x65watt actinic supplement.
i'm curious to see what corals you choose and where you will end up placing them.

The reason i went with somewhat the same height is i want swimming room up top. Plus i'm going for the sparse look. Everything will be placed with purpose. The rocks leave about 6" of space to the rear glass. Gonna try for some illusion of depth and trick the eye to think it's deeper than it is. Kind of a experiment. I'm gonna get a video clip of the structure, it really is alot better looking than on pics.
