Thanks Gretz

Since I think I am starting to solve some of my photography problems, I thought I'd try to take some top-down shots (my favorite view of the reef).
I didn't turn off the pumps or anything, I just held the camera over the tank. Some are kinda blurry, some turned out ok.

That acro is truly, truly, that green in person too. You should see it when the orchid dotty hovers right in front, the color combo is amazing.

In that last pic, that orange cap grew out of rock that I had "cooked" for about 6 months before putting it into this tank. It just came back out of nowhere. I'm gonna let it grow until it starts to shade the Echino, then I'll have to start using it for nutrient export.

This pic is of some of the other caps in the tank. They are starting to get out of hand... at least they are on the bottom of the tank

Great tank. Love the 14K's on the SPS.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone.

We got the keys to our current house in early June of last year, so this tank has been set up almost exactly one year at this point. I originally set the tank up with 20k bulbs, but they just weren't bright enough to keep any color in SPS in the bottom 1/4 of the tank, so I switched to the 14ks after about 3 months. I really like those bulbs.

The one thing I need to fix is that I don't have variable flow in this tank, at all. I have two vortechs, a closed-loop, and my return pump, but they are always on. I'm waiting for the vortech controller to come out. Surprisingly, I haven't noticed any drawback to having constant flow except that if something like a piece of Nori gets blown up against the coral, it stays there. But I think my huge Sailfin acts has a flow deflector, and he creates variable current just by swimming around.

Thanks Crissy

I think I have just arranged a frag trade with a local reefer, so hopefully with any luck I'll have some new encrusting montis and a baby blue stag to take pics of by the end of the weekend.
