Hi, most likely the cyano is due to excess phosphates. Do you use RO/DI water? Also anytime you add products like chemi clean or some ph buffers to the tank your skimmer will go crazy and pull water. Always turn you skimmer off when dosing these products. Continue the water changes and syphon the cyano off the rocks as best you can. Remeber make sure you are using good water for your changes this could be your problem.

Cyano is that slimey (usually maroon colored) film that grows over substrate. I find cyano blooms under three conditions:
1) high nutrients, solved by regular water changes, protein skimming, activated carbon, controlled feeding, good top-off water, etc.
2) shifting light spectrums, which can sometimes be fixed with changing old bulbs.
3) low pH, ca, or alkalinity. Raising both has helped curb cyanos in my tank.

Whenever I have an outbreak of cyano, I liked to use an airline hose to siphon out the cyano. Using the smaller diameter tubing tended to let me slurp up mostly cyano and not much of anything else. It comes up in slimy "sheets" so you may or may not clog the airline tube from time to time as big clumps of it comes up. But it still seems to be the easiest way to get rid of it.
