I bought an aquarium fully set up about a week ago. There is a ghost shrimp in it and he's been doing well, but yesterday he started acting peculiar, like he's dioriented. He gets onto his back and seems like he can't get back up. He's swimming upside down and just can't get going. He falls back to the bottom of the tank. He can't even walk across the bottom without falling over onto his back. I don't know what's going on, does anyone hav any suggestions?

Hi Elicia and :welcome:

I'm assuming this is a freshwater setup if you have a ghost shrimp living in it. Some folks here may be keeping/raising ghost shrimp as a food source for their fish and might have some advice so I'll move this to the main discussion forum where it will get more looks...

Ghosh shrimp are also brackish and IIRC do spend time in full strength NSW at times as well. To be truthfull, many species are called ghost shrimp, it's just a common name :)

Sounds like to me the shrimp is in the wrong type of water (salt/fresh) and from the sounds of it, your probably going to loose it :(

It could be a White Shrimp ( :?: ) (Penaeus vannamei).
They are small and clear and live in salt.

Idk what your problem is. :(
