I am going to be going out of town next week for 5 days and am looking for a good top off system. I have that about just using a Rubbermaid container with a maxi jet hooked up to a float switch. Is this a good way to go? I also have seen some switches with a solenoid that controls your ro/di. Since my ro/di hose reaches my tank do you think this would be a better idea or would it leave more room for error with the solenoid? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Float switch is okay but can fail. I wouldn't run the RO/DI directly as if that failed, you could have 100+ gallons of spill. Just fill your resevoir with enough water to last 5 days. This will minimize the amount of water that can overflow in case of switch failure.

I have also a flost like the member link shows there with a bucket and a pump hooked up to 12volt dc switch relay from RS and a 12vdc tranformer to power the coil that controls the pump that is 120 volt ac.
I made the box with a house plastic outdoor deep bow two outlet and cut the tab to have to outlet not togeher.bottom is hot 120vac for transformer that goes to floats to 12vdc coil relay then the top outlet is on contactor normaly open for pump.

The 5 gal bucket is filled by Ro/Di with kent float inside to turn off water when filled and a timer set a one 15 min tab a day to a 24vac transformer to turn on solenoid and booster pump on the RO/DI.

I have the water dose with one teaspoon of Kalkwasser for calcium and keep up PH.

Got the idea from a member here works great.

As len said if you have a 5 day bucket that is all you need.
