It's always horrible news when you hear about cancer taking someone so young (Greg was only in his 40s). In this case it's compounded by the fact that it's a major loss for the hobby. His many contributions to the hobby and this board will be missed.
Just heard about this today and was shocked. I didn't even know he was sick.
He gave great advice- really knew his stuff with fish husbandry in particular. I always enjoyed seeing him around at the various reefy events in the northeast- I'll miss him.
Greg was extremely helpful to me--when no else seemed to have the answer to a tough question, I could always rely on him to know and share his experience. This is a great loss of knowledge for us all.
I heard about it a couple days ago, on another board. Kind of threw me for a loop. Although never having met him, I have talked to him a few times online and read most of the stuff he wrote, since his early questions on Sprungs "reef notes".
Indeed a loss to our aquarium community. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.
