It has been suggested that I use Marine Max to treat my Racoon that is scratching but does not have signs of ich. Marine Max claims to be copper and chemical free, that you can add it directly to a reef tank.

Has anyone used this before ? Comments ? I hate to add any chemical to the tank if I can help it.

My racoon is also feelng well enough that I have not been able to catch it. However, it stop feeding for the first time today. This is why I am getting concerned.

Marine Max isn't designed as a medication but a proactive health "enhancer" (e.g. to fight off sickness from the start). I haven't heard anyone who praises the product and would not use it myself, especially in your situation where it is unlikely to do any good even if it is effective in what it claims.

Your Racoon may have flukes under the skin that is causing the irritation. Unfortunately, there is no way to medicate without removing it.

I know I can probably catch it soon because it will get weeker since it is not feeding. What should I use to threat Flukes ?

Paragon or potassium permanganate baths can work.

Is there any outward symptoms at all? Flukes are often visible (though small). They can be under the scales but it will discolor the scales (lighten them).

Other than signs by it being abused by rubbing against life rock, there are no visible symptoms. This is why I did not post a picture since it will just look like a normal Racoon.
