I'm just about to fire up my old hex. At first it's just going to be as a temporary store for rocks and crabs as I move stuff around.
These tanks are pretty deep so I don't think it's ideal but I'll probably rig up a pretty high egg-crate platform so I can QT sps corals without needing to outlay too much on lighting.
I want to be a little cheap here. I a fair amoung of live rock so that can go in the tank and lots of small power heads knoching around. I don't have a protein skimmer and unless I see a cPR backback cheap, I don't expect to get one. I hear I can get a"LOA 65watt 6500K PC flood light " for 10$ at costco... would this be enough for a QT light?
So.... what do I need for a cheap QT.
1) Another GFCI outlet
(have a spare dj power panel to plumb into this.
2) Poweheads (how many?, power etc)
3) Light?
4) Timer for lights
5) what else ????
How long would I need to light dependent orgs for?
Any links to QT setup pages would be appreciated too.
