i understand how to do a top-off on it and everything else, just not how to get a sump/refugium with some macro and a dsb in a tub with nothing else how do you place the buckets or get baffles in it? get me started please and i will be able to figure the rest out (I really hope so atleast)

some people use buckets for fuges and such or even as baffles. you need to get creative when using rubbermaid tubs.

If I were you though I would get the tuff-est one you could then double them up.... some of them bow when filled with 100g of water.... they are strong but you do not want anymore stress on the tub if you can avoid it.

I use a rubbermaid 31 gallon. Mine is very simple. I do use baffles. I cut some acrylic pieces and glued rubber weatherstripping at the sides of the acrylic to hold them tight against the sides of the rubbermaid. The rubbermaid walls are a little angled so you have to measure the top and bottom width.
