I'm getting either a 180 gal w/ built in overflows, or 210 w/ built in overflows. I want to set up a large sump and was thinking about buying the AGA Megaflow Sump Filter Model 4. Does ayone have experience with this filter? Or does anyone have any better ideas. I also have a eheim Pro III w/ carbon and nitrate rocks which I'll use one week out of the month to "polish" the water. Which ever sump I get I want to fit the Euro-Reef RS-180 Protein Skimmer in it. Any idea will be greatly appreciated.

It would be much cheaper to just get another glass aquarium and use it as a sump. You can customize it by putting in dividers (glass is cheap) and what not. The main question is how much space there will be under your stand.

Is it going to be custom built or a standard one?

just a standard stand. This suck when picking out a protein skimmer. I have a coral life 125 super skimmer and the top is touching the bottom of my 60 gal.

I actually had to fabricate an external sump to put my skimmer next to the tank.

Also, getting a "breeder-style" tank is much cheaper than getting a pre-fabbed sump. It's not hard to drill a tank yourself (get some cheapy e-bay diamond core drill bits).

Come to think if it.....I need to upload pics of the system now that it's all operational and stuff.

Thanks,
Eric
