I'm sure I know what answer I'll get on this, but figured I'd ask anyway..

I'm trying to figure out lighting on my little 7 gal tank.. At first I was just going to use a little mini compact light that screws into a regular light fixture.. But then I saw some dual power compact fixtures that I thought would work great also..

My dilemma is that there are two fixtures that would work for my purpose.. A 9" dual fixture with 9 watt bulbs and a 12" dual fixture with 18 watt bulbs.. The 12" fixture has more features like a lunar light and independant control of each light source.. But it's also $45 more expensive.. Seeing as my saltwater hobby is on a very slim budget, I am more inclined to the cheaper fixture.. Although I like the 12" fixture better..

I can guarantee you will like the 12" fixture better. Take your time and save up the extra $45. You will be happier a year from now when you aren't buying another fixture and putting the first one in the cupboard.
