How Long do you QT Fish/Coral

I really don't know what light to put on my 35 g hex. If I have to QT SPS Corals for 6 months then I guess I need a serious Metal halide but if I'm only QTing for a couple of weeks then something a lot less powerfull with the coral nice and high in the tank.

aside from wanting to be cheap as poss with the lighting/energy I do want to Quarantine effectively so... How long should you QT for?

Fish should be quarantined for at least a month...6 weeks if you can stand it.

I applaud you for doing things right...most people don't and pay the price at some point. Kudos to you my friend!

Although I've kept everything at one time or another, I'm mostly a fish guy and I've never quarantined inverts. Where this can in theory most likely bite you (or me) is with clams.

A few days to a week is plenty with inverts in general. You just need time to observe them and make sure they're clean of unwanted fauna.
