Anyone remember seeing pictures of a large, low square-or-near-square-rectangle tank with a ridiculous lighting setup? I think it had like 5+ different kinds of lighting (i.e. I think there were some halogens, high pressure sodium, white LEDs etc etc... bulb types not normally associated with reef keeping) trying to emulate sunlight as best as possible. I think it was located in Japan but I could be wrong.

I remember this tank being one of the cleanest, best kept, healthiest, and more aesthetically pleasing tanks I'd ever seen, and the lighting setup was fun to look at and think about. I thought of it recently as my roommate and I have just setup our tank and I wanted to show it to him just for fun. So if anyone has the pictures or knows of a link to them that'd be great.

Thanks for your time and any help.

Len - thanks for the response. That link had some beautiful pictures but unfortunately not the ones to which I was referring.

The tank I'm thinking of had, if my memory serves me, bulbs hanging from the celing by like thin polished metal rods (might have been wires, but looks better in my mind with rods heh) and were basically just the rods suspending the bulbs. I don't even remember if many or any of the bulbs had reflectors on them (and if they did it would be nothing more - no housings at all), that's how ridiculous and excessive this lighting setup was. Do you see how in those pictures it's dark around the floor and some areas? The pictures of this tank only had brightness and bright white everywhere that wasn't lighting or the tank itself, and that's another thing I meant when I said one of the "cleanest" tanks I'd seen - not just the literal cleanliness of the tank itself but the whole setup and look and presentation was "clean."

Hope this helps and thanks again for the interest and assistance.

Check this japanese site out: http://www.splash-sea.co.jp/tank/index.html

Many of their tanks uses numerous spot lighting (usually colored lighting).
I really like the way this one is divided up! :)

That's awesome. I was just as impressed with the plumbing. Sorry to hijack your thread Grahamathon, but that tank is just too cool.
