Sugar size sand?

Hello,
I am setting up a new aquarium that will be FOWLR, it will be around 200 g and i want to put sugar size sand but the aquarium store people told me it is not recommended to put that for only fish as when you clean you will lose it.

Can someone please let me know?

it is true.

MOST reefers use crushed argonite instead of sugar sand. The smaller sand also packs down too easily IMO
