Ok, I just bought a set of lunar lights by current. I have no canopy, its an open top system. My light fixure gets very hot from the 2xMH 250w. I am trying to find some kind of flex arm or cheap solution to mount the lights from the wall, to be just behind the light fixure. I really dont need anything heavy since the lights are very light. And I dont really want to spend a ton for 15$ lights. The fixure is a Oceanlight Combo and gets very hot. Double sided tape would melt I would guess, and if I screwed into it, I feel the plastic would melt as well as hurt the lighting fixure it self.

Any suggestions?

The way I mounted my moonlights was using velcro which I purchased at a local crafts supply store.

I have the round, 3/4 watt moonlights (2 of them) for my 46gal bowfront mounted on the back of the tank using the velcro; one piece of velcro stuck to the outside edge on the back of the aquarium and the mating piece of velcro stuck to the mounting bracket of the moonlight which I bent to straighten it out. I can bend the mounting bracket to point the light in any direction I want and the cords are hidden behind the tank.

I've used the velcro idea for various other mounting solutions, it has worked great for me.
