IS this normal behavior? All my other coral looks great. I have two mushrooms and they both are closed up half the time and now one seems to be detaching from the rock.
Mushrooms are kinda like anenomes. Although they don't do it very fast, that can move. If they are really unhappy with their location, they will detach and try their luck someplace else. I've had a little of this in my tank too. My blue mushrooms seem extra photophobic and grew really well on the underside of their rock, even in the lower light of my old tank. When they got transfered to my new tank with MH lighting, the few that ended up in full light were very unhappy. They never opened as full as they did in their original home and some detached completely. I set the 'shrooms that detached in another spot and they're happier now.
