I wanted to warn people of the bad experience I just had with puresaltwater.com. Buyers beware! His WYSIWYG is not WYSIWYG, that is if he ships at all....
I ordered some WYSIWYG corals from him last week. He offered to ship DHL for Sat delivery for only $5 more so I went for it, thinking Sat delivery was a pretty good deal on my schedule.
I got a confirmation from him directly that they would ship that evening. I stayed home all day on Sat waiting for the shipment. A call to DHL told me that that it could be as late as 6pm. I had no tracking info so I could not verify the shipment. DHL never showed. I emailed. I called. I called and emailed some more. No response of any sort. On one phone call somebody actually picked up the phone (it seems to be a cell phone) and just set it back down again. I started looking around for info on this outfit and found and Ebay auction where the exact same WYSIWYG coral is pictured and the auction is not scheduled to end for another week. He also has up a Buy It Now price of $5 less than he charged me. Also, I can at this moment go to his website and purchase the same WYSIWYG coral again. Since I purchased it last week I just don't see how I could both buy it again on his site and buy it on Ebay for $5 less.
Late yesterday I opened up a Paypal claim to try and get back my $120 expenditure.
Well I put my computer skills to work. It seems the corals on his main page are legitimate. The address link for the pictures shows that he uploaded them from his computer under a file called "inventory". HOWEVER those MYS...whatever that stands for, those pictures come up as YAHOO IMAGE RESULTS. This guy "googled" or "yahood" in this case a coral species and simply pasted the pictures. This is enough evidence to get the Better Business Bureau involved. Also the website design reminds me of one of those ebay ads that looked like the guy has nothing better to do but....make ebay ads. If you really want to get your money back the FBI hosts a Cyber crime devision that can get you more info. Im sure your not the only guy that got screwed. How is his ebay rating?
THe only contact info you have is 305 393 8529. THis is a Florida phone number based out of the Miama Dade area. Or the keys. Heres Yellowpages results "(305) 393-8529 is a cell phone based in Keys, FL
The registered service provider is New Cingular Wireless ". If you wanted to go really far you could call Cingular...ahem the new at&t...and explain the situation to a manager and see if you can get further contact info. You may need to get a detective to call as they will probably give you that contract confidentiality bs.
Oh my God nevermind you will be doing this all day. The link on his page goes to Frags.org and shows his membership info. It gives the puresaltwater.com phone number as 561-929-9233. THIS number is a cell phone based out of Boca Raton Fl by a company called Metro PCS. BUT the Frags.org info says puresaltwater is based out of Ft Lauderdale. NOW Im not sure if you know Florida geography. but... Ft Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and The Keys are quite a ways away from each other. Sounds like you got yourself into a pickle.
Blackcloudmeadia - holy moly what a detective effort! Thank you
I will say that since I put in my claim to Paypal he has made a refund to my account. No explanation, just the money. Suitable. I really doubt he is a hardened criminal, probably just very negligent and probably should be beaten about the head and neck
