Well depending upon how many bends you had in your 3/4" you probably don't have to worry much at all, yes there is some restriction due to the smaller size but what you'll most likely see is a decrease in the velocity of the water more so than any increased volume.
Hmm. That would decrease my water movement then. I was thinking the opposite would happen.
Those barb connectors for 3/4 seem to cut thediameter down to considerably less than 3/4... I was hoping the water flow would really open up if I moved to 1 inch.

No, increased area for water to come out with translates to a decrease in overall velocity. You will get more volume, maybe not much more but definitely not less.
Same principle when you put your thumb over the end of the hose, you restrict the area for water to come out resulting in an increase in overall velocity. Doesn't mean more water comes out however.

Yeah, going from a 3/4" to a 1" pipe you're increasing the area water can flow out of by a factor of almost 2, so there will be less friction with the sides of the piping, however the velocity will be reduced. You could always do 1" to the tank then have the output reduced to your desired size for velocity.
