This is a picture of the old bulbs that came with my Outer Orbit. It's been only 6 months use and is this bulb shot? I replaced it anyways.

I replaced my actnics too. They're whiter than the one that came with the unit. And as the title says, I added 150 watt XM 20k bulbs. It's not as blue as I thought, and I am very pleased with the look.

Tank is looking fine. The bulb looks pretty used up but is probably still serviceable. I'd keep it as a backup.

wow..the ballast must really make a huge difference. the 15k XM we have was way bluer than that. it was a 250 watter, but still.....
your tank looks nice, ours looked like straight actinic-

wow that does look like straight actnics. So you think higher the wattage more intense the color?

i don't know...bear in mind that the fixture we are using is one of those no-name chinese coralife clones. it could be a crappy ballast...or a real good ballast. i'm thinking crappy ballast.
