I know this is definitely a zoa-newbie question, but can different colonies of zoas harm one another when they come into contact? I just received a shipment of frags and decided to glue several different ones on the same rock. Bad idea? Are palythoa any different in terms of harming one another?

Usually, my experience says no. Most will live side by side without stinging each other. However, sometimes one can out-compete another for real estate.

i bought a "combo" rock from my LFS which had 5 different species...the taller of the species encroaches in any space it can while shading the others...so i would def. have to agrre with Len on this one..but other than that the rock looks great..

Rule of thumb though, the color you like the most will grow the slowest ;)
