I have a beautiful open brain coral that over the past few days hasn't looked so beautiful. It has been in my tank for over a year with no problems but over the last 3-4 days it hasn't been as full. I have tried lowering it in my tank thinking the metal halides had suddenly got too intense for it. I did a water change of about 25%. I tried feeding it but it didn't open up like usual the past 2 nights. Today it just looks dried out. Any suggestions? Before you ask the water parameters are Ph 8.2 calcium 450 Phospahtes 0.1 Nitrates 0(Not detectable) What am I doing wrong?

how old are your Mh bulbs......if it was doing well in one spot for a long time and the current(flow ) in that area hasnt changed maybe its time to get some new bulbs, Mh bulbs only last for about 6-10 months

Have you added any new fish that could be picking at it? Have you added anything out of the ordinary or changed anything at all? Have you thoroughly checked it for parasites such as flatworms. I had some get one one of my large open brains.

No new fish No parasites noted .
I have ordered new mh bulbs to try and see if that helps. My bulbs are 5 months old but maybe they burned quickly. I don't know. I'll try anything at this point. The brain doesn't look worse but it doesn't look better either.
