I rarely see my fish during the day due to work schedule, but I got to observe them for a while before noon today and they act very differently then when I come home at night. It's very interesting :) The Anthias are more friendly to one another and bunch up like I expect them to (at night, the male can get testy and harass females). The wrasses cruise more leisurely during the day too.

I have a yellow tang and a naso tang, the yellow tang picks on the naso. Yet i have been stuck at home the past few days and in the morning time it is the naso which acts more aggressive.
The naso does not go behind the rocks like all the other fish when the lights go out, it stays out. Is that strange?

Interesting Len...I think the perceived size of their environment changes at night in most homes. During the day they can see the entire room, and at night they usually can only see to the limits of the tank walls, and their own reflection (and that of the other fish) in the glass. This may have something to do with the difference you're observing.

I think it has more to do with them getting testy near dinner time, which is probably in the evening when you are home.

Nothing is spawning (except the shrimps) that I am aware of. The C.roseafacia is the only fairy wrasse that I've had in this tank that isn't super horny. All my other fairy wrasses do courtship displays daily. My current big male is content to slowly patrol the tank. Fish seem a lot more peaceful during the day and more aggressive at night.

Fairy wrasses spawn at dusk, right?
