is there a "no-holds -bared" reef forum out there?

Wondering if anyone is aware of any reef forums were you can just say whatever you want and nobody will care?
Like a full-on flame/bashing forum..thats what I'm looking for!

If not ,I may start one..it would be called "reef therapy" or somthing like that.
Allowing people to take their daily frustrations out on strangers,..and actually promoting it!!!!!

You could start one, they aren't that hard
But the trick would be getting enough people to visit it that it would be worthwhile to keep going.
Personally, I am usually on the internet when I am at work, so I need a bit of a work safe environment... or at least no porn.

HMMMMMM,I sort of forgot about the whole "work" thing..I bet most of us are "stealing" our employers time/money by working out our reef problems between 9-5.....might make an interesting poll.

Well there are some really angry reefkeepers over on RC. Not sure if the vitriol is due to having a larger userbase or what but some of those people need to start drinking, heavily, and often.

Our local reef club for the greater San Antonio / Austin area made a spinoff club for a while called 'Redneck Reefers' , the only difference you could be a potty mouth on the forums. Didn't last long!

I'd like to see how that experiment would go. I've seen other unmoderated forums, and they never turn out pretty. My prediction: you'll have a forum full of shoe and electronics spam, porn, and trolls

Don't think the novelty of being able to swear and talk about reefs could sustain a spin off board basically.

Thanks you guys..I sort of see how it wouldn't work..just thought it would be fun to communicate with others without a social filter..but as Len points out ..you would be stuck with all sorts of B.S...thank you

I know of two forums that have designated sub-forums that fit this description. However, as these guys have pointed out, once things start to get really ugly, people don't want to read it anymore so the point is kinda lost.

If you really want to vent something, start your own blog. Then you can control what responses you allow to be public and which you want to respond to. Basically, blogs are like your own little forum were you get to be the only moderator. ;-)

btw... the thing I learned about no-holds-bard reef forums is that while it can be fun to be able to say whatever you want, it's not so fun when people can say whatever they want back to you.

Not to mention that you gotta be careful what you say anyway. Because there are sue-happy people out there with the money and sufficient lack of shame to threaten you with litigation over something you say (be it true or not).
