I have the 6 foot Aquamedic spacelight 3X250wattMH 4X24 watt PC its about 5 years old. For quite some time one of the Metal Halides would come on about an hour or so after the other two (they are supposed to come on all at the same time)

This really was no big deal to me although I realize something was wrong with the fixture. Now it won't come on at all. Its a new bulb so the bulb is not the problem.

Anybody have this happen? any ideas what it could be? BTW it has an internal ballast. Both other MH's work fine as do the PC's.

I would contact Aquamedic. I hear they have a good CS reputation.

Yeah, I did contact Aquamedic. Doesn't seem like its going to be an easy fix. I basically was told to take the unit down ( which is a huge PITA) take it apart and look for any obvious signs of damge to any parts.
I was also told these lights were made to run on European Current and to use a voltmeter to test it??

Then basically start replacing parts (Capacitor,Ignitor,Ballasts) etc. until its fixed.

I was kinda hoping someone had a similar issue as these were popular lights a few years ago. Looking and hoping for an easy fix.

the capacitor is where i'd start-it's usually the first thing to go, and is also the cheapest and easiest to get/replace part :)

Oh, I had a similar problem before (but not with aquaspacelight .... my spacelight had a burned out ballast). I agree with Vitz. Based on your previous symptoms, I would start with the cap first, then the ignitor. Either should be easy to swap out and cheap (if not free).
