DIY low profile magnetic powerhead holders. For Pennies!

When I was into R/C I remember replacing the magnets in my engines with neodymium magnet's. Called rare-earth magnets they are powerful magnets made of a combination of neodymium, iron, and boron. 1 magnet the Size of a Penny or 3/4inch or 1/2 inch in Diameter can support a weight off 10 kilograms (22 LBS!!!!!). This is much more than the average maxijet weighs.

I think that by using simple super glue and the Neo' magnets one could essentialy fabricate their own powerhead holders and position them where-ever you like. No more paying for expensive Magnetic powerhead holders from marine depot etc.

I think I found a source for the magnets and as soon as the funds and time present themselves I plan to order a few and test them out.

you could also use magnet glass cleaners. so that way you don't have the possible of something leak into the water from the magnets
