i would do the 1-2-3 scenario. however, i'd put the 3 stage baffles at the end , just before the return. the macros and pods won't be effected by bubbles :wink:
we're using a rio 2100 on our 30 cube....knock on wood, 6 months and going strong. i bought a mag 9.5 off of someone on this forum and it quit on my just after i got it, and they told me it was a few months old, so, you never know.

mine was probably 4 months old when my mag 9.5 died. My Mag 5 is fine though *knock on wood*

Mr X how are your returns done off of the rio 2100, I am thing about using two 1/2 ( I think they are 1/2) lock line fan nozzles that I already have, Do you think this will be two much pressure, should I add another outlet. Maybe one pointed up to keep the surface stirred up?

Does anyone think that the slope I a have drawn will help reduce any water noise or will it just become a slide for algae to grow on?

With the rio 2100 Im guessing that will put out around 250 gph and a maxijet 1200 little over 200 gph. This should be plenty of flow huh, about a 22X turn over.

I contacted the guy that I ordered my glass hole saws from and they are held up in customs. He placed another order for me so possibly I could end up with four saws for the price of two 8O I told him I would send one shipment back to him but he doesnt seem to care.

we have the 2100 feeding a SCWD wavemaker, then to 2 hoses which are connected to 2- 1/2" loc-line. actually, i wish i had just alittle bit more flow.

i don't know about the slope, but i'd guess it might help somewhat. however, you are taking up some space using it, and i don't think it will be loud without it. i can't even hear my sump.

My sump is similar to your #1 diagram. I have slightly more flow through my sump than yours and I don't hear a thing. The distance between the height of the fuge water level and my return water level isn't much.

how did you build the doors?

the doors were built with a router bit set that are designed for make them. Just a raised panel cabinet door set. i just made the sides as if they were a door but just fastened them to the frame. The panels are a pain to make, if you have never done them before, and as I said this is the first time that I have made them. They are not perfect but i am pretty happy with them for this being my first real wood working project.

Nice flatbed?? uh yeah right. got a 500 gal deisel tank mounted on it with a welder and everyone seems to get a kick out of filling the tank all the way up and slamming on the breaks sloshing deisel all over the truck. ok and there is an electric selenoid that shuts off the fuel to the engine to cut the truck off that keeps going out on it and it only cost 800 bucks so after the third one we know have a string you have to pull after the key is turned on before fuel will get to the engine and it will crank. ya want to buy it :lol: :lol:
