I am looking for information and/or advice from those of you that have kept or are keeping pistol shrimp with gobies.

The symbiotic relationship is a very cool display and I was thinking of adding a pistol shrimp to live with my shrimp goby who is a resident in my tank for over 4 years.

With respect to the law of unintended consequences, are there downsides to having a pistol shrimp in the tank?

I currently house one coral banded shrimp, a number of mithrax crabs, and the usual bit of snails and hemits. One tang and that's it. Small number of SPS and lots of LPS and zooanthids.

I am interested to know if I will be setting myself up for other problems with the introduction of a pistol to the community.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

About the biggest problem with pistol shrimps is that they will pick up every piece of small rock, coral, snails, hermits, shell, etc. and add it to their burrow. Other than that, I have not heard about to many issues with pistols.
