OK so heres the story so far..

I'm building a new 90 Gallon Custom tank. Similiar to the Oceanic but only the Front panel is Starfire. It was a AGA that cracked a front panel and the dude had it replaced at a local glass shop with starfire. In Either case.....

I like soft corals and a few different hard corals. I like leathers and Monti's and capricornicus's etc etc etc. I am PRIMARILY a hammer, zoo, poly, anem, kind of guy. I don't really plan on having any clams or anything of that nature. With that said I currently have a..

Hamilton Technology 4 X 96 Watt Pc Actinic Fixture with 4 50/50 Bulbs inside of it. Thats a little over 384 Watts on a 90 Gallon Tank It currently is gonna sit like a few inches over the water. Not High at all.

I Recently Acquired a Icecap 660-009 Ballast and 4 Wired for action VHO's. Each bulb is rated at 110 Watts. I got 2 Super White and 2 Blue Actinic.

I want to be able to care for just about any damn thing I want.

Should I...

Remove the Ballastas and Actinic's from the Hamilton Setup including the Reflectors Etc and Screw them Directly into my Tanks Hood. Then Wire the VHO's and Install them as well. See diagram of what I Think I will do. I dunno if its the right thing to do though.

i'd use the power compacts for all actinic, and use the VHO's for all 10k daylight.
i'd also remove them from the fixtures and screw them all in the hood. and lastly, i'd put 2 VHO's in the middle, and then PC's, then VHO's on the outside.
