Power Compact brands

I am looking to replace my 96watt power compacts. There are many different brands out there. Are all brands the same or so some last longer than others ?

Are there any web sites that you would recommend ?

The cheapest site I have found is Reeftanklighting.com, for $22 each Hamilton. However, they claim that 3 of these weight 60 lbs and want to charge $29.30 for UPS ! I’ve emailed them to ask if that was an obvious web site error in assigning weight.

I personally love Sattelite. I've had the 96 watt fixtures on my refug and my small tank for about 3 years and I've only had one ballast go out, which was replaced free of charge by the company because it occured during the warrandy.

One to stay away from is Odyseey. The bulbs that come with the fixture are crap and the ballast on both units lasted all of about 3 months. They're also almost impossible to get parts and noone I talked to from any lighting places will work on them.

I have had really good experiences with JBJ lighting. I had a broken bulb upon delivery...So I called them and they sent me a new one no questions asked. Didnt have to send them the broken one either....
