ocean runner pump

I was considering buying an Ocean Runner pump for a return pump and also possibly a needle wheel version for a skimmer. Can anyone who has experience with these pumps tell me your thoughts on them? Do they stay sealed good when used externally? Are they overall good quality?

I've never had an issue with the Ocean Runner on the Aquamedic needle wheel I've used.

Same here. Mine has been running strong for years.
I have never used one externally though, so I can't comment on that.

IME they're a better quality pump than Mags - quieter and don't heat the water as much.
