Green Slimmer issue....

hello.
i've had a green slimmer frag, which has been growing slowly, but steadily, for about 8 months, give or take. i have him about 3/4 up the rockwork, and until recently, have used those chinese Aquarmckzo bulbs. last week i purchased an Ushio 14k for the middle halide, which the slimmer, and many other corals are almost directly underneath. i ran it for 4 hours a day for the first week, and just now, increased it to 5 hours a day (the old Aquarmckzo bulb was on a 10 hour photo period), and i've noticed something happening to the slimmer. it looks like a perfectly round hole has formed on the lower branch(furthest from the light), which slime is oozing out of.
ordinarily, i would think it was the bulb, but would that be the case if the lowest branch is the one effected?
at the same height and higher than the slimmer are a couple ricordia, some zoos, and xenia...all which seem unaffected.
i'll take better pictures, but i just snapped these quickies with the flash, before the halides came on.....

Other than the cottony appearance the corals seems to have good color and polyp extension. Looks to me to possibly be a bacterial infection Ive seen (and lost one to) on some of my corals. Id keep a close eye on it and if it doesnt clear up on its own in a week Id give it an iodine dip. I've had corals with it get better all on thier own so Im not quick to say dip as its stressful to the coral and its owner.

just be sure to watch for any rtn...if it starts to, just clip off the portion that is bleaching out. the coral looks really good besides that weird hole. could something have agitated it (fish nipping, etc)?

i doubt it's the new bulb, just might be a coincidence with something else.
