Anyone have any ideas on how to remove RBTA's from an aquarium. They have plagued it. Had one survive 5 days without power in the tank and 2 years later I have atleast 20 of them.

Yes manual removal. They are in a 90 gallon and quickly taking it over. On the back glass and on the rocks.

Aren't those thing worth a good chunk of change? If so, maybe you could get rid of them and pocket some cash!

if you can pull the rocks out without damaging the foot, you can pry them off with chopsticks.

Also, you can try putting an RO-icecube against the foot so it loosens. Once you get under the edge, tickle the foot with the above mentioned chopstick.

A powerhead pointed directly at the anemone will get it to move sometimes.

I just sold a couple of them for $25 each. Post on your local reef club.

I just removed 5 a couple of weeks ago from some rock. Just don't cut your fingernails for a couple of days and then you can easily pry the foot up. Once you get one edge up, its pretty easy to peel it off the rock. If it is really hard, you can get it started using the tip of a knife to chisel the rock a little on one edge. Even if you tear the anemone a little, they tend to heal quickly.

Once you get them off the rock, a good way to keep them is to order one of those acrylic fish holding containers like they use in the pet shops. Drill a few holes in it and hang it in your tank. This will keep them healthy until you sell or trade them and they will be easy to get out.
