I am looking for the dimensions of the Kent Aquadose 2.5 gallon from someone who owns one. The dimensions for the 5 gallon and 1400 ml version would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.
I don't know about the dimensions of those thing, but I made my own for about $2.50 each, by using 2.5 gallon water jugs from the grocery store. I can post pics if you are interested.
Thanks for the idea. The reason I am looking for dimensions is that I have limited space, so the square footprint of the Kent units may work better for me. It may be possible for me to use another type container though.
Here are some pictures of the ones I made. I can measure their exact size tonight....I don't have room in the stand for this, so I just attached a shelf to the left side (on the outside) of my stand (fig 1). This also allows gravity to do the work instead of a pump (always a plus in my book - as it is a constant). I have the outlet plumbed through a hole in the top of my sump lid and the control valve near there as well (fig 3). This configuration lets me see and adjust the drip rate at the same location.
I used this system to successfully raise my Alkalinity to a proper level when it was low and Calcium was high. I don't have much using either water parameters, so I add fresh RO/DI water to the dripper and use it to maintain the water at a constant level in the sump. In the future I will resume dosing limewater in the same setup.
