Hey guys,

It's that time of the year again, when everyone is asking what i want for x-mas. Apparently I'm a very difficult person when it comes to this, at least that's what I've been told. So I think I need to upgrade my light. I currently have this:

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=12772

a 48" version. It works ok for the softies I have, but it's damn loud, i replaced the fan with a 20db version, yeah right :). It also started to flicker lately so sometimes my daylights never turn on, I come home from work and they're still flickering away.

So what sort of 48" T-5 light you think it would fit my bill, quiet, decent amount of light and good reliability? I was looking at ATI lights here: http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/T5_Flu ... _Fixtures/

but I don't know if it's all marketing or what? They are in general $100-150 more than similar Sunlight Supply lights and such.

Also any general tips on how I would change the fixtures? Do some sort of gradual "introduction" of new lights somehow.

thank you.

Thanks man I'll make sure to do that, of course that it is if I find one under my Christmas tree this year ;).

Now I still need to get some feedback as to what are some good units out there.
