My well has over 150 ppm CO2. Even with only 6ppm after RO my DI depletes in a week because of the high CO2.

I don't want to have to set up an aeration tank before DI due to lack of space.

Is it possible to put a second RO stage after the first RO to get lower than 6ppm RO and possibly skip DI ?

Or

Is it possible to add a canister Calcite filter prior to RO to turn the CO2 to alkalinity and then the RO will remove ?

Would it be feasible to aerate the well itself? The pH is simply too low and kH is too high, so I think a calcite filter won't help. I actually think you need to soften the water with another DI stage.

If the ppm is from high salt well water, then adding a second stage RO will help, but it is going to be wasteful. You may want to consider pressurize the RO input and get a hi-performance RO instead.

If the ppm is from high CO2, then adding another RO won't do you much good. The best way to do this is by degasing, and I think you are aware of it. The calcite filter alternative will not be a good alternative since it add more work for the RO. If you have space for the calcite filter, you maybe able to add a degaser or an aeration tank.

It all come down to the trade off between space, cost and time. Good luck.

Im selling a Kent R/O unit. It has brand new filters and membrane. I still have receipt for the filters and membrane. The unit comes with a flush valve, all the water lines and a digital TDS meter (DM-1) monitering both IN and OUT. The unit also comes with the saddle clamp for mounting on your copper water pipe.
This unit puts out 150 gallons per day. It purifies water to 0 PPM shown on the TDS meter.
The unit can be sold with or without the TDS meter.
$100 for the unit with TDS
$75 without the unit
The TDS meter is also brand new and never used
please let me know if your interested
