What should I expect under 90 watts of PC lighting, the Acan's 8 inches from the light, and the Micro's 15 inches from the light. Water params are as close to great as possible. They are fed once every two weeks with mysis shrimp.

I find mine grow at a fairly good clip. I would say doubling rate is about every month. Some species are faster then others, of course.

My Acans (Red and Green Lords and Purple and Red Acan) grow pretty well under 550w of VHO and DE MH. Just for experimental purposes, I have one about 10" from the surface and one 24" from the surface. They both seem to be growing at about the same rate of a few heads every month.

Yeah, I definitely need some of whatever you all have. I got a couple frags of acros and micromussa quite a while ago and they seem to do nothing while all my acros and everything else is growing like weeds. I did have relatively low calcium / alk for a while because I just couldn't seem to keep up with it. Maybe the other corals are just more efficient at extracting calcium from the water in low calcium conditions than these two.

Bought my first acan at a frag meet a few weeks ago. Have him on the bottom but now after hearing this I will move him up midway. I have 456 watts.

The more you feed them, the more they'll grow/split. :D

What are you feeding them?
I don't have micros, but I usually feed the whole tank. Back when I was feeding corals individually, I would feed the acans, blastos, euphyllias, and favias all the same - a mixture of frozen mysis, dried cyclopeeze, and krill.

Now, I use those 3 along with phyto, enriched brine, some flake food, some enriched baby brine, some spirulina, and whatever else I've got to feed the whole tank every so often (usually 4-6 times a month). This is mostly for the inverts, fish, and anemone but the corals catch a good bit too. ;)

Mine are just stagnating, no new polyps, feeding them once a week mysis shrimp. Whereas my Palythoas are growing like weeds. which are a few inches away but not touching the Acans or Micros
