Definitely a big improvement. Really nicely fitted together and probably one of the best sorts of shape for that size tank. :)

One thing I'd suggest (and you may have already thought of this) make sure your magnetic scraper (I'm guessing that's it in the upper right corner of the picture, can fit between the rocks (and corals if you put them on there such that they encrust) and the glass wall. It might be an optical illusion in the picture but it doesn't look like it'll fit. and nothing sucks worse than having a nice cherry piece in a location where you can't clean the glass very well to see it.

It fits. I have OCD, ya know. :D

How quickly things change.

The government took my federal tax refund and has garnisheed my wages for my old school loans, and the tank for some reason is not doing well. The cyphastrea and duncans are doing fine, but all but one of the lords are not looking good at all.

So, either way I get to wait a while before anything else goes in the tank. I've done a water change and am just waiting it out. Once I get some money up I'll get a few pieces and maybe a fish from the LFS, but that won't be for at least another month.

Peace,

Chip

Sorry to read that Chip, I know things will get better for you. How do you like the tank otherwise? No beefs with the design as of yet?

Chip how is the skimmer working on that tank? Everything still functioning OK?

The skimmer, IMHO, is the only part of this setup that sucks. However, I'm still not at the 'breaking in period' for it (only been up about 5 days now), so I'll know in a month whether or not I have to replace it with something else.

The tank itself seems to be stabilizing a bit...there are pods everywhere already, and I had a local reefer donate some VERY large frags that are doing quite normally. :D

Anything non-derogatory to add?

Sure. Pull the stick out of your pooper.

That seems more like a self-improvement thing and has nothing to do with my tank. With your marine knowledge, you'd think there'd be *some* good advice you could give me regarding my tank and not my anal cavity.

Well, I removed the filter basket and filled it up with live rock rubble today. Eventually I'll get one of those Red Sea mini-fuge clip-on lights and throw some chaeto in there to get the refugium going.

Okay, the tank has settled down completely, it seems. Microfauna everywhere, no haze to the water at all, and the corals that are still in there are behaving 'normally.' In about another 10 days I have a few more corals coming in (all frags) so we'll see what happens.

I am planning on adding fish at some point, but not for at least another month. I'll snap a few pics today or tomorrow.

Peace,

New frags finally coming tomorrow. Thousands of pods everywhere and the corals still there are doing well. I'll know definitely in a few days after the corals settle down. I'd post pics, but my digital was stolen when my condo was broken into on Wednesday. Maybe I can borrow the g/f's or my folks' camera and take some shots.

Peace,

Chip
