Ive seen some use the "dirty" water from the water change of their FOWLR to do the water change in their reef.

If Im right I would be putting water that has 40ppm NO3 into my reef that has less than 2ppm NO3. Doent seem logical.....

Now I can see doing it the other way....

Please help me if Im being dense :?

(blinks) uh, you've lost me here, that idea doesn't make any sense. The only time I "reuse" water is from a display tank to a quarantine tank, simply because it's an easy way to keep up on the Q tank.

Make no sense to me either, unless there is something in the reef tank that need the extra nitrate, such as clam.

But then, maybe they should just pee in the reef tank instead... ;)
