New 125 Coral Life Protein Skimmer Skims well Mostly Water

This super Skimmer Skims alot of Water the Foaming action seems to be in over Drive.I have it set on the Lowest setting but it seems to be Skimming Mostly Water.The Micro Bubbles on this are Horrible Thankfully I have a Collection Cup on that Hose with a Sponge in it that Hangs on the Back of the Tank.Anyone have any Experience with this Problem I am almost regreating Buying a Skimmer now.

how long has it been running. i had the same one on my reef and it took about a 1 1/2 weeks for it to break in. The one thing that I noticed when the cup was heated under hot tap water it worked better. Also I had the bubbles @ the base of the cup and it woorked great

i have seen those skimmers skimming well. just play with it. call the manufacturer and ask them to help you. i don't think they are horrible skimmers.
maybe your water is so full of DOC's that it just goes crazy when you turn it on. give it time.

Well it seems to be skimmer Better its not acting like old Faithful anymore.Actually it over Flowed a Little While ago this is Annoying not sure what the problem is?.

I have used that same skimmer for 2 years. It seemed to take forever to get any reliable skimming out of it. I'm still always fooling with that level adjustment. Be sure to expect the little orafice in the pump intake(the hole with the clear tube) to get clogged every couple of months. Maybe even more if your Ca levels are high.

I have the smaller model running in my sump with no problems.

Did you follow the installation instructions? I had an issue at first, but it was because I didn't follow the steps on ensuring proper height/distances of the input and output tubes.

How long have you had it running, how high are your bubbles in the cup, etc? Have any photos?

Well the Skimmer is Well Finally Skimming Gunk its been Touche the Last few Days.Maybe it will be alright I was begining to to think I made a Mistake. :roll:
