rigleautomotive,

:welcome:

Sorry, I don't have any experience with that problem, I'll give this a bump and hopefully someone else will chime in here.

do you know if the recommended 6 hours is long enough to do the job.i have treated and still see some bugs on the acropora and crawling after 11 hours.thanks Dan

Ive used intercetpor to treat red bugs on several occasions. IMO you most likely didnt use a strong enough dose to kill them because Ive never heard of a case where the treatment didnt work. Regardless, three treamtents is recommended to guarantee total eradication of the pests.

Also, PLEASE shrink up that darned avatar of yours........ this thread is down right annoying.

thanks for the reply,i know about the three treatment deal.i used 11.5 mg tablet for roughly 200 gallons of volume.after 12 hours there was about 90 percent gone, but a few small ones still crawling on the coral that had the most.its a samoensis.instead of doing the water change and running carbon,i added another 11.5 mg tablet and left it stew overnight.this morning not a bug in sight.also no dead hermits that i see and the only shrimp i have is a huge coral banded, which looks fine.the tank is a 180 with a 40 gallon sump.i figured the rock displaced about 40 gallons.anyway it worked like a charm at the dosage i used and polyp extension was better than usual.i did the 25 percent water change at the 23 hour mark.it is an old mature reef and i guess i did not account for all the plumbing, closed loops, skimmer, cal reactor, returns ect.that may have been the issue or maybe they would have died with out the extra 11.5 mg,if i waited it out.thanks for looking and info. sorry about the avatar,i did not realize it was so big.
