Have to realize those aren't THAT much more efficient than some MH/HPS bulbs. especially lower kelvin.
However I'm curious of their claims of the plasma getting to 6,000K... as I'm pretty sure that would melt just about any glass many times over, although I guess it could be one of those instances where the way the plasma is flowing it confines it to the central part and the temperature drops off dramatically towards the glass enclosure
Yes, temperature drop off quickly away from the plasma. This is one of the reason they can't make small MH bulb. They just can't make the inner tube smaller since it would be too close to the plasma, I heard.
